About this trip
The 8-hour is the classic full-day trip and our most-booked offshore length. We run offshore to the harder-bottom ledges and wrecks that hold red snapper (in season), grouper, triggerfish, and vermilion snapper, with time to troll a spread for king mackerel on the way out and back. It's a complete day of deep sea fishing Biloxi style.

Captain Brandon has been marking these offshore spots for three decades, and the latest fish-finding electronics on The Shearwater help him put you on the bite. Our experienced First Mate handles the leadering, the gaff, and the fish box, and fillets and bags your catch at the dock. Beginners are welcome — we coach every step.

The Shearwater is built for long days: a 37-foot custom Sportfisherman with a Caterpillar diesel, an ice-cold air-conditioned cabin, a private restroom, and a covered deck. All rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice, and licenses are included. Bring a real lunch and plenty of drinks — you'll earn them. We take pride in showing every customer an unforgettable time.

8-Hour Full-Day Fishing Charter FAQs
How far offshore do we go on an 8-hour charter?+
The 8-hour reaches the harder-bottom ledges and wrecks within roughly 25–40 miles offshore — deep sea fishing water that holds bigger snapper, grouper, and pelagics.
Is the 8-hour too long for a family?+
For experienced families who love to fish, it's a great day. For small kids or first-timers, we usually recommend the 4.5- or 6-hour instead. The boat's ice-cold A/C cabin and private restroom make long days comfortable.
What should we bring on an 8-hour trip?+
A real lunch, plenty of drinks, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a light jacket for the early run. We supply all the gear, bait, ice, and licenses.
Can we keep the fish we catch on the 8-hour?+
Yes, within state and federal limits. We fillet and bag your catch at the dock. Snapper and grouper have closed seasons — call Captain Brandon at (228) 282-4452 for current dates.
